Having worked on Creative Review, Designer for the CSD, Design Week and AJ I was very keen to win this pitch. We did a great poster of all the connections in the design industry — myself, Lewis Blackwell and Jan Burney did it. We won the work! The celebration with Simon Kanter and Issie Peate in Gordan’s wine bar drinking Madiera that resulted in me passing out at a kid’s cricket match.

We had the great sense to use a big name designer for the launch and we chose Mark Farrow, who designed graphics for the Pet Shop Boys and he did a brilliant job, working closely with Jo Spreadborough my art editor. Paul Simpson who is the most intelligent journalist  I know, edited the magazine.
