I started the buyfontssavelives campaign. Matt Willey, who is presently design director for the New York Times (mattwilley.co.uk) and Joe Graham (typespec.co.uk) and Paul Hickson, the type designer, have helped me enormously with this cause, that has raised over £10,000 for two cancer charities. All proceeds go to the charities. The fund-raising project was inspired by my niece Laura, who sadly died aged just 26. I created a new typeface family to sell in her memory. Other type designers and experts are kindly joining in to help raise funds.
