In 2007 I was the founding chair for a new organisation to promote great editorial design. Our aim was to hold lectures, debates, and functions to provide continued professional development to members and students can come along and learn about great editorial design. The chairs have been myself, Jeremy Leslie, Simon Esterson, Violetta Boxhill, Mark Porter, Lee Belcher, Sarah Douglas and Kuchar Swarar. Cath Caldwell and her students from St Martins graphic design course have been brilliant supporters and helpers and Gill Branston and Layla Kaye of Gill Branston Associated make the whole thing work.
We have had great speakers including Scott Dadich, Mike Meiré, Matt Curtis, John Tennant, Matt Willey, Dan Crowe, Peter Grundy, David McCandless, Natalie Lees, Mr Bingo, Chris Dixon, Franchesco Franchi, Fernando Gutiérrez, Jonathan Hoefler, Janet Froelich, Alex Breuer, Jonathan Clayton-Jones, Aaron Duplessis, Andy Cowles, Suzanne Sykes, Mark Leeds, Jon Butterworth, Ann Braybon on Town, Robin Derrick, Jop van Bennekom, Richard Turley and many more.
